Art and stuff. Warhol and Deller

April 27, 2011 at 3:04 pm (Uncategorized)

For my first blog entry and my first of a regular flow of art thoughts. It will be Andy and Jeremy who will be the focus. After the recent radio 4 programme, Front Row, that describes Andy Warhols arrival in London in 1986, I will look at a work of art by each artist.  Deller was there at the Ritz to experience the moment of Andy’s arrival.

“Meeting Warhol was the single most exciting thing I have ever done: the highpoint. It was way beyond what I had expected; it has never been bettered as a formative experience.

The Factory was mindblowing for a young person; to see that art could achieve all that was extraordinary; he made the possibilities for an artist seem endless.” http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2008/jul/26/art.andywarhol
